When Miss Hoggy Leaves Home has turned ONE!! My very first post was just a mere sentence though, and Miss Hoggy was just my dreaming alter-ego. Then, I was only dreaming of collecting stories from every part of this world. Despite the fact that I’ve started, I’m hardly a tenth there yet. Regardless, I took the chance to celebrate Miss Hoggy’s one-year-old earlier last week by soaking up the summer sun in Beaufort and the beautiful shoreline of North Carolina.
Two of my favourite things in this world are summer and beaches. And I was glad to find (unexpectedly of a Southern state) the beautiful shoreline of NC to treat myself. Though I didn’t make it to the famed Outer Banks due to my very short time here, I, however, managed to have a taste of the Atlantic breeze by stationing myself in Beaufort, a historic town in NC’s Inner Banks.
Beautiful walks by historic buildings aside, there’s one thing more important in life when it comes to celebration: FOOD! Staying in Beaufort was made even more amazing when I actually took a friend’s advise to try this restaurant in town: Front Street Grill at Stillwater. How amazing? Dinner there for two days straight. Enough said.
My legs were tired from my walks, my tummy’s very satisfied, and what’s the best way to celebrate? A relaxing lie down by the beach. So a short drive to Atlantic Beach was in order. Though the beach culture here’s very different from home (it’s LOTS TAMER here), the sea breeze and the sun are the perfect ending to any trips.
Celebration aside, on Sunday, what about a little exploration of downtown Raleigh and learning a little about this Old North State?
